How to Connect Your Montonio Account to WooCommerce

Set up your Montonio integration without copying and pasting API keys — connect directly with one click.

Written by Heinar M

The Connect to Montonio button lets you link your WooCommerce store to your Montonio account in a few clicks - no manual copying or pasting of API keys required. This reduces setup errors and speeds up your go-live.

Before you start: Make sure you have registered your business in the Montonio Partner System. If you haven't signed up yet, follow the guide: How to get started with Montonio.

Connecting your store for the first time

  • In your WordPress admin panel, open the WooCommerce settings → Montonio

    settings.

  • In main settings, click the Connect your Montonio account button.

  • You will be redirected to the Montonio Partner System. Log in if you are not already signed in.

  • If your account is linked to multiple businesses or stores, you will be asked to choose which store you want to connect. Select the correct one and click Continue.

☝️ If your account only has one business with one store, the selection step is skipped automatically.

  • The system checks whether your selected store is Live or Pending review:

    • If the store is Live, your WooCommerce store will be connected to the Live environment.

    • If the store is Pending review, it will be connected to the Sandbox environment for testing.

  • Review the details and click Connect store.

  • Once confirmed, you are redirected back to your WooCommerce store with a successful connection message.

Connected a Sandbox store? A warning will appear to remind you that the Sandbox environment does not process real payments. Switch to your Live store when you are ready to accept real transactions.

Re-syncing your connection

If you experience issues with payment or shipping methods not appearing correctly, or if you have recently made changes in the Partner System, you can re-sync your connection without reconnecting from scratch.

  1. In your WordPress admin panel, open the Montonio plugin settings.

  2. Find the Refresh / Re-sync button.

  3. Click it — the plugin will automatically refresh the connection to Montonio services.

💡 Tip: Use the Re-sync button any time payment or shipping methods seem out of date, or after activating new services in the Partner System.

Can I use the old method of copying API keys manually?

Yes, manual API key entry is still supported. However, using the Connect button is the recommended approach as it eliminates the risk of entering incorrect keys. To find your API keys manually, see: How to Find API Keys for Integration.

Something went wrong during the connection - what should I do?

First, try clicking the Connect button to try again. If the issue persists, make sure you are logged into the correct Montonio account in your browser before starting the connection flow. Contact our support team if the problem continues.
