Montonio processes card payments for many online stores. If your card payment didn’t go through, this guide explains the most common reasons and what you can do next.
Quick checks first
Before trying again:
Check your card details. Make sure the card number, expiry date, and CVV are correct.
Make sure online payments are enabled. Some banks turn off online or international payments by default. You can usually change this in your banking app.
Check your balance and limits. Daily or per-transaction limits can block a payment even if you have enough money in your account.
Approve the payment in your banking app. Most card payments need confirmation through 3D Secure. If you miss or close the confirmation step, the payment fails.
Don’t wait too long. Payment sessions expire after some time. If yours has expired, go back to the store and start the order again.

My bank says they can’t see the payment attempt
This can happen. Some payments are stopped before they reach your bank, for example when:
The card isn’t supported for online payments.
The card used for the transaction is a prepaid card.
The card was issued in a country we can’t accept card payments from. Due to regulatory and security requirements, Montonio cannot process payments with cards issued in certain countries, such as Israel, Turkey, and others.
Automatic security checks flagged the payment as unusual. This can happen when you try several cards for the same order in a short time.
In these cases your bank won’t see anything, because the payment never reached them.
What can I do if my card payment keeps failing?
Choose another payment method at checkout, such as bank payment, if the store offers it. This is usually the quickest way to complete your order.
Contact the store if no other payment method works for you. The store can help you arrange another way to pay.
💡 For security reasons, we can’t share the specific reason why a card payment was declined or stopped.
