Set up Shipping zones for Montonio International Shipping

To get started, make sure that your Montonio plugin is up to date. Download the latest Montonio for WooCommerce plugin here.

1. Go to your WooCommerce Settings --> Shipping --> Add zone.

2. Name your zone based on your preferences e.g. Germany/DE.

3. Choose Germany under Zone regions.

You can also add multiple countries into one zone.

4. Click Add shipping method --> add Montonio International Shipping - Courier/Pickup Points.

Choosing Pricing Type

You can choose between two Pricing Types:

  • Dynamic Pricing

  • Flat Rate Cost

Calculate shipping cost for International Shipping here

Dynamic Pricing

Dynamic Pricing - Shipping cost is calculated directly via the API and shown in the checkout to the buyer.

You have two options with dynamic pricing to show your customers:

  1. Set dimensions for each product --> shipping cost in the checkout will be calculated based on your set dimensions via API.

  2. Use default package dimensions if dimensions are not set for some products --> shipping cost in the checkout will be calculated based on the default dimensions via API.

  • For products that have custom dimensions set, the price is calculated based on the custom set dimensions.

  • For products with default dimensions, the price is calculated based on the default dimensions.

Flat Rate Cost

Flat Rate Cost - Enter a fixed cost shown to the buyer. Actual shipping costs are calculated via API and charged to your account.

  • Use default package dimensions --> your shipping cost will be calculated based on the default dimensions via API.

    • When using Flat rate cost, you can set your own pricing (you can add your own margin on top) for different zones. For example, if you want to set fixed shipping cost for Germany to 10€ for all products, then you should use flat rate.

Default Package Dimensions

The dimensions are used when products in the cart do not have shipping dimensions defined. This ensures shipping rates can still be calculated via the API.

Example: I'm selling three different products with the following dimensions: 40x18x5 cm, 40x25x8 cm, and 45x30x10 cm. The default package dimension should be the largest one: 45x30x10 cm.

Set custom dimensions for your products

To set product dimensions in WooCommerce:

  • Go to Products --> Shipping --> Set custom dimensions for the desired products.

Shipping Classes

Create shipping classes for which International shipping method should be disabled. If the cart contains any product from these selected shipping classes, International shipping method will not be available.
