We recently informed merchants about the switch from Stripe to Adyen for card payment processing. Starting in November 2025, Montonio will begin migrating the existing merchant base to the new system.
During the transition, your store will be moved to the new processing system. Once the transition is complete, you will receive confirmation via email.
Here’s everything you need to know about this update.
What This Means for You
No action required: The switch is done in the background. Your online store does not require any changes. However its important to make sure your store is properly updated and using the latest Montonio plugin or integration.
Pricing and payouts remain the same: Your current pricing and payout frequency have not changed.
Monitoring: If you or your clients notice anything unusual, please contact us immediately. Helping you during this transition is our top priority.
Improvements with Adyen
No more Stripe verifications
Previously, using cards required filling out the Stripe sign-up form and providing additional documents for account verification. With the new solution, once the card service is activated, no further verification from Stripe or other external parties is needed.
Payouts come directly from Montonio
Your bank statements will now show payouts from Montonio instead of Stripe Payments Europe Ltd and will include the relevant payout UUID.
Faster Payouts
Previously, with the Stripe integration, selecting a Daily payout frequency meant that funds would take 3+ business days after the transaction date (T) to reach the merchant’s bank account.
For example, if a card payment was made on Monday, Stripe would pay it out by Thursday, following the T+3 business days logic.
With Adyen, payout speeds are improved and will follow a T+2 business days logic. This means a card payment made on Monday will be paid out by Wednesday.
Easier refunds and a more streamlined refund process
If your balance is insufficient for a refund, it will no longer be rejected. The refund will be automatically processed once your balance is sufficient.
Fees
One of the key changes with Adyen is that Montonio card payment fees are now automatically deducted from your payouts, so you no longer need to pay them separately.
Other fees – for bank payments, subscription fees, and shipping – are not deducted. Monthly issued invoices must still be paid.
You can pay them via direct bank transfer or the payment link on your invoice.

Accounting
As the transactions fees will be now deducted before paying it out, this may require adjustments in your accounting system. For guidance, refer to our Help Center article:
