Updating your business details in the Montonio Partner System requires understanding when you can simply change your business name and when a new business registration is necessary. This guide will help you navigate both scenarios.

✅ When You Can Change Your Business Name

You can change your business name in the Partner System if:

  • Your business registry code remains the same, and

  • Only the legal name of your business has changed.

Recommended Steps Before Changing Your Name

  1. Update Your Legal Name in the Business Registry. Ensure that your new legal business name is officially registered in your local Business Registry.

  2. Re-confirm Business Details in Montonio. Once your new name is registered, proceed with updating your business details in the Montonio Partner System.

Steps to Change Just the Business Name

To update your business name:

  1. Verify Your Business Registry Code. Ensure your business registry code has not changed.

  2. Contact Montonio Customer Support. Support will update the status of your account, allowing you to make changes in the Partner System.

  3. Update Your Information in the Partner System. Once your details are updated, Montonio’s team will verify the information and assist in updating your business name.

Note: During verification, Montonio ensures that:

  • Submitted information matches the Business Registry records.

  • All required documentation is accurate and complete.

❌ When You Need to Register a New Business

If your business has both a new name and a new registry code, you are considered a new business entity. In this case:

  • You cannot update your existing Partner System profile.

  • You must register a new account for the new business.

Steps for Registering a New Business Entity

  1. Log in to your existing Montonio Partner System account.

  2. Register the new business from your account dashboard.

  3. Complete the onboarding process for the new business.

  4. Once verified, start using Montonio under the new entity.

  5. Submit a deactivation request for your old business account to avoid subscription fees.

Managing Multiple Company Accounts

If you have multiple businesses registered in Montonio and want to deactivate one, go to the business account settings page of the company account you wish to deactivate.

Follow the instructions here: How can I deactivate my account?

Continue Operations with the Remaining Account

  • Ensure the remaining account is fully verified and that all services you wish to use are activated. More information on available services can be found on the Home page.

  • Check that the API keys have been updated and that you are using the keys generated for your new account.

  • Make sure all payments are processed through the active account.
