New feature for Shipping V2 that enables merchants to activate Receiver Age Verification for shipments via Smartpost in Estonia. This service helps merchants ensure that age-restricted goods, such as alcoholic beverages, are delivered only to customers of legal age.

Key Features

  • Receiver Age Verification is available for both pickup point and courier shipments.

  • This feature applies to direct contracts between merchants and Smartpost.

  • Automatic Activation: Once you enable this service through the Partner System, it will automatically be applied to all eligible shipments.

  • Extra Cost: You should be aware that using this service comes with an additional fee, which will be included in their Smartpost invoice.

How Age Verification Works

Upon receiving the parcel, the recipient's age is verified using an ID-card at the time of pickup. Smartpost ensures compliance with legal restrictions on delivering age-restricted items, particularly alcoholic beverages, by enforcing the following:

  • Parcels can only be picked up between 10:00–22:00, ensuring that such items are not delivered outside legally permitted hours.

This feature is ideal for businesses that sell age-restricted products and want to provide an extra layer of security and compliance.

How to enable Receiver age verification for Smartpost Itella in the Partner system?

1. Go to Smartpost settings in the Partner System.

2. Tick the box near Receiver age verification --> Save the changes.
