How to add a tracking code to e-mails in WooCommerce?

With Montonio's shipping solution you can add tracking codes to customer e-mails. The tracking code is connected to the shipping provider's tracking page so that the end-consumer would get an easy and convenient overview of the location and status of their package.

Activate Montonio Tracking Page

Montonio tracking page is a website that we have created, where consumers can take a look at the parcel statuses. It brings together data from each carrier and displays the exact same statuses that you would otherwise see on Omniva, DPD, etc pages.

You can add your logo to the tracking page so you as a merchant can be top-of-mind for the consumer in the parcel journey.

Adding the tracking code is done through the WooCommerce settings of your store.

1. First, navigate to the WordPress admin view of your store → Select WooCommerce → "Settings" → "Montonio Shipping" from the menu on the left.

2. From the “Montonio Shipping” tab, find the field “Tracking code text for e-mail”. Input the text you want to be shown before the tracking code in e-mails.
Attention! The text from this field will be visible wherever the shortcode is used. If you want to add the code to multiple templates and use different wording, leave this field blank and add the text under the e-mail template.

3. Copy the default shortcode “{montonio_tracking_info}” as shown in the first picture.

4. Choose the e-mail template from the Emails tab in the WooCommerce settings, choose the e-mail template where you want to use the tracking code and click “Manage”. - This works only for Completed orders!

1. Enter the copied (“{montonio_tracking_info}) in the “Additional content” field. Here you can also add the desired text to go along with the tracking code.

2. As always – save changes!
