This article explains how to create payment links in Montonio's Partner System. If you would like to learn more about the various use cases of payment links, please refer to this article.

Orders tab

Firstly, payment links are visible from the navigation menu and sit under orders.

Service fee

The service fee is based on your chosen package and business country. You can check it HERE.

Activation

Payment links can be activated from the Partner System as a separate service. Activation takes place under Stores --> Payments --> Payment links.

Specified parameters

Once the service has been activated, you can create your first payment link.

When creating a payment link, the following parameters can be specified:

  • Which store should the payment link belong to?

  • Payment description. That's what you'll see in the bank statement

  • Amount

  • Currency

  • Expiry

  • Asking end-user information checkbox

The last parameter determines whether the customer has to fill in his/her first name, last name, and email while paying through the link. There might be cases where it's crucial to know from whom the payment came. If it's mandatory, then the payment link itself looks like this.

However, if you don't care about end-user information and don't check the box about end-user data, the payment link looks like this 👇

How to create a payment link?

Here's a quick walkthrough of how to create a payment link in the Partner System.

Once the link has been created, you can share the URL with your customers to complete the payment. It's also possible to deactivate a payment link if it's no longer required.

Also, you will always see which orders are initiated via payment links.

As you can see, the output of the QR code is both:

  • A URL that you can use in emails, text messages, or social media messages.

  • A QR code that you can present to customers. Scanning the code allows the customer to initiate the payment easily.
